Excellent location on a hill which provides nice view of the lake and alleviates some of the traffic noise. Rooms are spacious and comfortable but hotel restaurant is overpriced. Complimentary breakfast ok but nothing special. Only one slow computer for internet access. As the previous reviewer commented, it should be priced at $30 not $45.

Empress Da Lat is a great looking hotel - from the outside. It's an old French villa, located right on the lake with excellent views.

The rooms are tired, however and in need of refurbishment. The airconditioner did not work (even though it sounded like it did) and the room had a musty odour, although you soon got used to it. There was a strong sewage odour in the bathroom, which was quite offputting. This hotel is OK, but over-priced at USD$45 per night. Should be no more than USD$25-$30 per night in my view - and I'm not all that fussy as a rule!!
